Under the sports capital programme administered by my Department, applications for funding were invited by way of public advertisement on 15 and 17 December 2000 and the closing date for receipt of applications under the 2001 programme was 9 February 2001.
I have received an application under the 2001 programme from the organisation in question, one of over 1,450 received in total. The process of assessing the applications is about to begin in accordance with the guidelines, terms and conditions of the programme. I intend to make allocations under this programme as soon as possible after all applications have been assessed.
