Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ulick Burke

Question:

233 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if, further to his letter of 12 December 2000 in reply to Parliamentary Question No. 325 of 7 November 2000 and his review of the case involved, he will clarify the manner in which the application was processed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7702/01]

This application to participate in the scheme was received on 5 June 1996. The application was processed and was accepted on 19 June 1996. The scheme specification (green specification) which was dated 15 May 1996 was put into effect following planner briefings that took place on 26 June 1996, a week after this application was accepted. Therefore, this application was subject to the terms and conditions set out in the original scheme document and specification and was processed accordingly.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

234 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Meath will receive payment for the slaughter of cattle through the depopulation scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7754/01]

My Department cannot process for payment the compensation entitlement in this case as the person concerned has not furnished the necessary up to date tax clearance certificate.
