Vol. 532 No. 4

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Tony Gregory

Question:

598 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education and Science the assistance his Department can give to provide special tuition for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 and also to assist with his attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. [7444/01]

My Department allocates additional teaching hours in respect of pupils with assessed special educational needs. Each such case is considered on its merits. My Department has not, to date, received an application for additional teaching resources to cater for the needs of the pupil referred to by the Deputy. Should such an application be received from the authorities of the school in question, it will be considered by my Department.
