Vol. 532 No. 4

Written Answers. - Home Tuition.

Enda Kenny

Question:

683 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Education and Science if assistance can be made available to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8199/01]

My Department operates a scheme of home tuition, which provides compensatory instruction for students at first and second level with grave medical ailments which are likely to cause major disruption of their attendance at school. Home tuition grants are provided for students who cannot attend school or are absent for a significant proportion of the school year.

I will arrange for a home tuition application form to be forwarded to the student's school. On receipt of the completed application form, the matter will be given urgent consideration.
