Vol. 533 No. 2

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

John Ellis

Question:

128 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will request the Land Registry office to expedite the completion of registration of a site to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [8460/01]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this application, which relates to a Land Commission vesting order, was lodged on 25 May 1994. I am also informed that the correct schedule number in this case is 92427.

Land Commission vesting orders are deemed to be registered as of the date of vesting which is prior to the date of lodgement of the documents in the land registry. Accordingly, registration in the land registry of Land Commission cases is afforded a lower priority than the registration of other dealings. I am further informed that the land registry is currently awaiting lodgement of an estate map from the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development and that a reminder issued to that Department on 21 March 2001. I can assure the Deputy that the case will be completed as soon as possible on receipt of the estate map.
