Question:

163 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Finance the typical clerical staff to policy staff ratio in each Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8558/01]

A breakdown of staff involved in typically clerical and typically policy related work is not available. The following table sets out, in broad terms, the breakdown into professional groups of the number of non-industrial civil servants by Department and office at 30 June 2000.
