Vol. 533 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Accommodation.

John McGuinness

Question:

191 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will define the amount of money which is being spent under the national development plan on projects at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny; the cost of each project and the completion date; if a 90 bed community hospital is included in the plan; if so, its completion date; if a home for the elderly is to be provided in Kilkenny city or if this project has been included by the South Eastern Health Board in its plans and its requests from the Department for funding; and the plan to be implemented by the South Eastern Health Board in the short term to take beds off the corridors of St. Luke's and relieve the pressure on staff. [8643/01]

Health boards have responsibility for the prioritisation and delivery of capital projects within their area under the national development plan.

In this context, I have asked the chief executive officer of the South Eastern Health Board to reply direct to the Deputy on the matters raised.
