Question:288 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of gardaí permanently deployed in the drugs squad for the Sligo-Leitrim district; and the rank of each member. [9043/01]

I am informed by the Garda authorities, who are responsible for the detailed allocation of personnel and resources to individual areas, that the drug unit based in SligoLeitrim division has a current manpower strength of eight, one sergeant and seven gardaí and operates on a permanent basis.
