70 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the position regarding the lifting of the restriction on the sale of mussels from Cromane, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8682/01]
Mussel production at Cromane has been open since 18 January 2001, following a series of clear results from shellfish analysed under the national biotoxin monitoring programme. Further shellfish samples analysed since that date have remained clear and shellfish production continues to be open subject to ongoing sampling and testing programmes.
