135 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the number of appointments made to boards, both semi-State and private, under the aegis of his Department in each of the past years 1997-2001; if he will give, in regard to each year and each board to which appointments were made, the number and percentage of males and females appointed to each board; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The appointments made to boards under the aegis of my Department in the years 1997-2001 are set out in the following table:

I also made the following appointments. Two men were appointed to Millennium Festivals Limited in 1998, one of whom was replaced later in the year by a woman, a proportion of 50% male to 50% female. One man was appointed to St. Patrick's Festival Company in 1999, a 100% male representation. One man was appointed to Overseas Tourism Marketing Initiative, OTMI, in 1997, a 100% male representation.
