Vol. 533 No. 6

Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

John Perry

Question:

423 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 155 of 1 February 2001, his attention has been drawn to the fact that no further developments have taken place on the completion of works at St. John's national school, Ballisodare, County Sligo; if, in the interest of safety, he will instruct his Department to ensure that items submitted on the snag list are completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9513/01]

My Department's building unit is currently liaising with the consultant engineer for the project with regard to having any outstanding works carried out as soon as possible.

The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.

Tony Gregory

Question:

424 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education and Science the refurbishment works which will be carried out in a school (details supplied) in Dublin 1; when work will start; and the time scale involved. [9514/01]

The architects appointed for the project at the school in question are currently finalising the tender documentation for the proposed refurbishment works. When this documentation has been received in my Department the matter can be progressed further.

It is not possible at this stage to say when construction will commence. The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.
