39 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his Department's legislative programme for the remainder of 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10138/01]

Local Government Bill, 2000

To modernise local government legislation and implement a range of reform measures.

Electoral (Amendment) Bill, 2000

To make various amendments in electoral legislation.

Waste (Amendment) Bill, 2001

To provide for a number of amendments to the Waste Management Act, 1996 and the Litter Pollution Act, 1997.

Road Traffic Bill, 2001

To provide for changes in road traffic legislation to implement aspects of the road safety strategy and certain other matters.

Motor Vehicles (Duties and Licences) Bill

To provide for changes in motor taxation rates.

Environmental Protection Agency (Amendment) Bill

To update legislation in relation to the Environmental Protection Agency

Licensing of Indoor Events Bill

To provide for a new licensing system for indoor events.

Building Control Bill

To provide for the registration of the titles of architect, surveyor and quantity surveyor; and amend-strengthen the powers of local building control authorities under the Building Control Act, 1990.

Control of Road Openings Bill

To strengthen the powers of local authorities in relation to road openings by statutory undertakers.

Purpose

Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill

To address a range of housing issues, including consumer protection, increasing powers and borrowing limits of the Housing Finance Agency and other necessary amendments to housing legislation.

Water Services Bill

To consolidate and update water services legislation.

Housing (Private Rented Sector) Bill

To implement reforms arising from the report of the Commission on the Private Rented Residential Sector.
