Vol. 534 No. 3

Written Answers. - Housing Aid for the Elderly.

Ulick Burke

Question:

216 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will make additional funds available to the Western Health Board for the housing aid for the elderly scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10789/01]

A total of £1.65 million for the operation of the scheme of special housing aid for the elderly in 2001, compared with £1.476 million in 2000, has been allocated to the Western Health Board by the task force, which administer the scheme under the aegis of my Department. This will enable the health board to continue a high level of activity under the scheme. The overall provision for the scheme in 2001 has been fully allocated.
