Vol. 534 No. 3

Written Answers. - Departmental Telephone Systems.

Question:

232 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if he will review the quality of sound on his Department's telephone system. [10592/01]

My Department relies extensively on the telephone for contact with customers and their representatives. There are a number of specific inquiry lines to deal with calls from members of the Oireachtas and it is understood that the Deputy's concerns relate to those lines. The matter referred to by the Deputy has been raised with the company which maintains the Department's PBX network and will be fully investigated to see what action may need to be taken. There have been no complaints regarding the quality of sound on the Department's telephone systems generally.

Question No. 233 answered with Question No. 54.
