134 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Finance if he will carry out the necessary maintenance works on the Woodford River from the point where it ceases to be in the charge of Waterways Ireland and becomes the responsibility of Woodford town; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10797/01]

The Woodford River does not form part of any drainage scheme for which the Commissioners of Public Works have a maintenance responsibility under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945.
