Vol. 534 No. 4

Written Answers - Grant Payments.

John McGuinness

Question:

132 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department will undertake to carry out a report on the proposals put forward by a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny to care for two members of her family who suffer from usher syndrome; if a full medical report can be included; and his intentions in this case. [10869/01]

I presume the Deputy is referring to medical reports which are provided by health boards in support of applications for the disabled persons grant for housing modifications administered by the Department of Environment and Local Government. The provision of such reports is solely a matter for the relevant health board and accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the Chief Executive Officer of the South-Eastern Health Board with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy, as a matter of urgency.
