224 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the tonnage and financial value of sales of vacuum packed Irish beef to Europe for each year 1990 to 2000 inclusive; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11940/01]

The doubling of vac pac exports over the ten year period is a welcome development and is in line with Government strategy for the sector. Current Government policy is for further development in this direction.
