Procedures for certification and labelling of products are, for the most part, based on various EU directives and regulations governing those sectors and, where necessary, may reflect specific requirements of our export markets. In the circumstances, therefore, I am satisfied with the procedures in place. However, given that consumer protection is an absolute priority, my Department will continue to review its certification and labelling on an ongoing basis.
