288 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Galway will receive an appointment for a cataract operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11473/01]

The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of that board to investigate the position in relation to this case and reply directly to the Deputy.
