315 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health and Children the public expenditure on institutional care which has been made since the introduction of the nursing home subventions; and the way in which this compares with expenditure on community care over the same period. [11754/01]
The information sought by the Deputy is not available in my Department. I have asked the chief executive officers of the health boards and the Eastern Regional Health Authority to reply directly to the Deputy, providing, where possible, the following information – the yearly expenditure in respect of older people, from 1994 to 2000 inclusive, on (a) nursing home subventions, (b) health board institutional care – community hospitals, long-stay hospitals and nursing units, and (c) care in the community.
