Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Housing Aid for the Elderly.

Nora Owen

Question:

339 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the eastern community works project in the Eastern Regional Health Authority area has stopped taking applications for repair works to houses as there is a large waiting list; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11361/01]

As the Deputy is aware, the special housing aid scheme for the elderly in the Dublin-Kildare-Wicklow area is administered by the Eastern Regional Health Authority on behalf of the Department of the Environment and Local Government.

I have asked the chief executive officer of the authority to investigate this matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
