Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Local Authority Housing.

Question:

408 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his views on whether local authorities should build new flat complexes; and if he has received an application from a local authority (details supplied) in this regard. [11839/01]

It is a matter for individual local authorities to decide whether to build flat complexes as part of their local authority housing programmes. There are no proposals in my Department from Dublin Corporation to construct new flats at the location in question.
