Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Michael Moynihan

Question:

412 Mr. M. Moynihan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the progress made since his announcement of funding for the sewerage scheme in Kilbrin, County Cork. [11907/01]

This scheme has been approved for funding under the rural towns and villages initiative and the preliminary report was approved by my Department last September. The collection system is to be procured by conventional means and it is a matter for Cork County Council to progress this element of the scheme through to construction stage. The treatment plant is being procured as a grouped design-build-operate contract with the treatment plants for Buttevant and Doneraile. I understand that a brief for the appointment of a clients' representative for these works is currently being prepared by Cork County Council.
