428 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position in relation to the application of Wexford Corporation for sanction of proposed environmental works at Talbot Green housing estate, Wexford Town, including replacement of the Tyrolean external finish on phases 1, 2 and 3; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Some £620,000 has been paid to date to Wexford Corporation under my Department's remedial works scheme in respect of refurbishment works to the dwellings at this estate. These works were completed in 1996. Proposals for the replacement of the external finish on phases 1, 2 and 3 of the project are under technical examination in my Department at present and the corporation will be advised of the position as soon as possible. I understand proposals for environmental improvement works are being developed by the corporation but have not yet been received in my Department.
