Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Work Permits.

John McGuinness

Question:

547 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the status of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny can be clarified while the person resides here with her husband in order that she may apply for a work permit; and if he will investigate the case and expedite the application. [12137/01]

The person in question currently has permission to reside in the State as the spouse of a temporary registered doctor. For her to take up employment, it will be necessary for her prospective employer to apply to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment for a work permit in respect of her.
