Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Schools Building Projects.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

617 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science when the project for the pro posed extension and facilities at Scoil Dara, Kilcock, County Kildare, will go to tender; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11626/01]

The stage four to five (detail design and bill of quantities) submission is currently being examined in the building unit of my Department.

On completion of this examination and providing that the documentation is satisfactory, the question of authorising the invitation of tenders will be considered.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

618 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Education and Science the action which has been taken by his Department further to his meeting with a deputation in July 2000 from St. Ibar's national school, Castlebridge, County Wexford; the reason the response promised to the deputation by August 2000 is still awaited; when remedial action will be taken to ensure that the health of staff and pupils is not further jeopardised; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11627/01]

In view of the large number of school building projects being dealt with by my Department at present, it is not possible at this point to provide a timeframe as to when the proposed building project at St. Ibar's national school, Castlebridge, County Wexford, can be included for capital funding.

The school authorities will be informed of any developments in the matter.
