621 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science the situation regarding the provision of a new primary school at a location (details supplied) in County Louth; the efforts he has made to secure a site for the proposed new school; the funding commitments which have been made by his Department in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11667/01]

The property management section of the Office of Public Works is acting on behalf of my Department in relation to site acquisitions generally and is currently exploring the possibility of acquiring a site for the school in question.

It is not possible at this stage to give any indication of the timescale for the completion of the acquisition.

The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.

Question No. 622 answered with Question No. 593.
