651 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science when interviews will be held for the post of visiting teacher at a location (details supplied) in County Cork; if his attention has been drawn to an offer to fill this post on a part time basis; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The position to which the Deputy refers has been temporarily vacant due to the illness of the visiting teacher for the area.
The Department advertised for a temporary replacement, pending the return of the visiting teacher. An application is currently being considered.
The position regarding the likely date of return of the visiting teacher is expected to be clarified next week. A decision will then be taken on the appointment of a temporary replacement.
