102 Ms Clune asked the Taoiseach the amount of chicken that is imported for consumption; the origin of this chicken; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11705/01]

The following table shows the value and tonnage of chicken meat imported for years 1998, 1999 and 2000 as recorded by the Irish external trade statistics. Imports are classified by country of origin with EU and non-EU countries identified separately.
