Vol. 535 No. 2

Written Answers - Grant Payments.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

151 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if payment of a control of farmyard pollution grant or part of the grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12453/01]

Inspections of completed works under the on-farm investment schemes were cancelled in late February on the advice of the expert group on FMD. That group has now recommended that a protocol be drawn up for carrying out on-farm inspections and I expect that inspections will resume shortly on this basis.

The person named notified my Department on 9 March that all the investment work had been completed. Inspection of the completed works will be carried out as soon as possible after the setting up of the necessary protocol for inspections and payment of the grant will follow provided both the structure and required supporting documentation are found to be in order.
