Vol. 535 No. 2

Written Answers - Special Task Force on Dyslexia.

Austin Deasy

Question:

215 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education and Science when it is expected that the report from the Special Task Force on Dyslexia will be published; and his views on whether he will be able to provide the finance necessary to implement the findings of the report. [12105/01]

I understand that the task force has now completed its detailed deliberations and is currently finalising drafting its report. The task force expects to be in a position to present its report before the end of this month.

It would be my intention to arrange to make the report publicly available as soon as possible after it is received.

The financial implications of any recommendations brought forward by the task force can only be assessed after the report has been received and considered. However, it is my intention to continue to support the development of a comprehensive and effective education service for children with dyslexia and I look forward to the important contribution which the task force report will make to this process.
