Vol. 535 No. 2

Written Answers - Pension Provisions.

Paul Bradford

Question:

121 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will consider allowing principals in primary and secondary schools, who have been in their posts for the past 12 years or more, to relinquish their posts, without loss of allowance or pension entitlement. [12302/01]

A claim has been lodged recently by the teacher unions with the Teachers' Conciliation Council in relation to these issues. As claims before the council are a matter solely for the council, it would be inappropriate for me to make a statement on the matter at this stage.
