Vol. 535 No. 3

Written Answers - Interest Rates.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

133 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the plans he has to make provision for persons who took out local authority loans at large fixed interest rates in the 1980s for the purchase of their homes and who are now not in a position to raise the finance from the private sector; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12684/01]

I refer to the reply to Question No. 56 of 5 April 2001. The position has not changed.
