Question:

202 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason for the delay in starting the new sewerage scheme for Dungarvan, County Waterford; and the projected start up date for the project. [12775/01]

This scheme was included in the Water Services Investment Programme 2000 to 2002 to start construction last year. The site investigation phase has now been completed.

The results of a review of the contract documents for the collection and delivery system were received from the council on 26 April and are now being examined in my Department. They will be dealt with as quickly as possible. The Department is awaiting the submission of tender documents for the design/build/operate contract for the waste water treatment plant.
