138 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the EU directives relevant to her Department which are awaiting implementation; the nature of the directive; when it was passed by the Council of Ministers; the final date for implementation; and if this deadline will be met. [13003/01]

To transpose Council Directive 96/49/EC of 23 July 1996 on the approximation of laws of the Member States with regard to the transport of dangerous goods by rail; and Commission Directive 96/87/EC of 13 December 1996 adapting to technical progress Council Directive 96/49/EC of 23 July 1996.

To transpose the European Parliament and the Council Directive 97/66/EC of 15/12/1997 into Irish law.

To transpose into Irish Law Commission Directive 1999/48 of 21 May 1999 adapting for the second time to technical progress Council Directive 96/49/EC on the approximation of the laws of the Member States with regard to the transport of dangerous goods by rail; and Commission Directive 2000/62 adapting for the third time Council Directive 96/49/EC.
