Vol. 535 No. 5

Written Answers - Probate Tax.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

156 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Finance if he will ask the Revenue Commissioners to suspend collection of probate tax in the circumstances as referred to in Parliamentary Question No. 186 of 27 February 2001, as the returns referred to have now been made (details supplied). [13317/01]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that in the circumstances of this case they are prepared to consider a postponement of probate tax. They are, however, still awaiting further information from the solicitor for the taxpayer in this regard.
