Vol. 536 No. 1

Written Answers - School Transport.

Pádraic McCormack

Question:

165 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will allocate a school bus pass to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13356/01]

The pupil concerned resides within the Galway City catchment area and less than three miles from a number of schools in that catchment area. Accordingly, he would not normally be eligible for school transport facilities. However, in view of the allegation of bullying in a previous school, the matter is being investigated by the school transport section of my Department.

The Deputy will be informed of the outcome as soon as possible.
