Vol. 536 No. 1

Written Answers - School Staffing.

Batt O'Keeffe

Question:

172 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans he has to appoint a remedial teacher at a school (details supplied) in County Cork. [13390/01]

All schools in the free education scheme have an entitlement to an ex-quota allocation in respect of remedial education. The actual allocation to an individual school is determined by the enrolment in the school.

The enrolment in the school referred to by the Deputy warrants the allocation of 0.5 of a post in respect of remedial education and provision has been made for this in the approved teacher allocation for the school for the current school year.
