Vol. 536 No. 1

Written Answers - Airport Facilities.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

75 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the extent to which freight facilities have been enhanced at Dublin Airport; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [13463/01]

The provision of facilities at Dublin Airport, including cargo facilities, is a matter for Aer Rianta. However, the company informs me that over the past eight years, that is, since 1993, significant warehousing, office accommodation and airside facilities have been provided by Aer Rianta to accommodate all the major freight carriers and handlers at Dublin Airport. A new facility for An Post international mail was also provided. Aer Rianta is currently consulting with their cargo customers in relation to the future needs for the sector and the options to cater for those needs.
