Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy McGuinness – the need to establish new procedures in the compulsory purchase of land for road construction and to protect the rights of land owners and local communities; (2) Deputy Perry – the need to make funding available for the conservation of the O'Hara Carriages, which were gifted to the State in 1952 and are in storage in the National Museum's facility in Inchicore as they are to be returned to their home region and will be a focal point in a transport museum in County Sligo; (3) Deputy Deenihan – the need to provide funding to enable the families of the Dublin and Monaghan victims to establish a family service support centre for bereaved relatives under the guidance of a suitably qualified programme director; (4) Deputy Gay Mitchell – the need to amend provisions of the new tax credit code, which does not permit transfer of full tax credits between spouses in certain cases because of the cut-off point; (5) Deputy Hayes – the need to introduce a special package of measures at the earliest possible time to help schools in disadvantaged areas keep and attract teachers; (6) Deputy O'Shea – the need for the Government to invest resources to save our architectural heritage given that one third of the State's monuments and stone structures are significantly damaged or suffer neglect; (7) Deputy O'Sullivan – the need for a strategy to deal with the increase in sexual crimes; (8) Deputy Ó Caoláin – the need to ensure the retention of the middle infants class at the junior convent school, Castleblayney, County Monaghan; (9) Deputy Browne (Wexford)– the closure of Wexal with a loss of 150 jobs; (10) Deputy Olivia Mitchell – the need to ensure the free flow of traffic on critical city routes during the strike at the national toll roads concessions; (11) Deputy Upton – the need to improve the occupational therapy services on offer to older people at a centre (details supplied); (12) Deputy Broughan – the need for a strategy to tackle poverty among one parent families; (13) Deputy Enright – the need to revise guidelines and regulations governing the erection of telecommunications masts and antennae in residential areas.

The matters raised by Deputies Browne (Wexford), Ó Caoláin, Deenihan and O'Sullivan have been selected for discussion.
