Vol. 536 No. 2

Written Answers - Decentralisation Programme.

Pat Rabbitte

Question:

117 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Defence the position regarding the transfer of Department officials to Roscrea, County Tipperary; the estimated cost of the transfers; the cost of the facilities purchased or leased in Nenagh; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13804/01]

As the Deputy will be aware, the Government decided to decentralise the Civil Defence branch of my Department to Roscrea, County Tipperary. The Office of Public Works, which has responsibility for the provision of official accommodation for Departments, is currently in discussions with the owners of a building in Roscrea. I understand that these discussions are ongoing and that no decision has yet been made.

Question No. 118 answered with Question No. 97.
