John Bruton

Question:

111 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the countries from which grain or vegetable products are imported in which it is legal to spray crops with antibiotics against bacterial diseases. [14494/01]

The EU countries from which grain or vegetable products are imported in which it is legal to spray crops with antibiotics against bacterial diseases are Greece, Spain, Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, United Kingdom and Sweden. In Ireland, there is no authorisation for crop spraying with antibiotics. There is no information available regarding non-EU countries.
