Vol. 536 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

John McGuinness

Question:

182 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if the installation of the new CAT scan at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny, was the subject of a public tender process; if so, the number of tenders which were received; the way in which contractors were invited to tender; if other electrical contracts of this kind are put out for public tender by the South-Eastern Health Board; the method used to establish the panel of contractors; if such a panel exists; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14603/01]

The Deputy will appreciate that the provision of services, including the purchasing of equipment and the implementation of tendering procedures, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny, is the responsibility of the South-Eastern Health Board.

I have asked the chief executive officer at the board to look into the issues raised by the Deputy and reply directly to him as a matter of urgency.
