Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will provide increased resources in order to ensure that the surgical procedure for a spinal cord stimulator is increased from ten per year in order to eliminate the waiting list of 500 public patients; and if he will assist a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 to have the procedure carried out as a matter of urgency. Responsibility for the funding of services at St. Vincent's University Hospital, Elm Park rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. I have asked its regional chief executive to investigate the matters raised and respond directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
