Vol. 536 No. 5

Written Answers. - Health Board Report.

Dan Neville

Question:

200 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children the details of the report following the review by the clinical director of the Mid-Western Health Board's mental health services into the death of a person (details supplied). [14710/01]

My Department has been advised by the Mid-Western Health Board that the review by the clinical director of the mental health service into the death of the young person to whom the Deputy refers is still in progress. It has not been possible for the health board to finalise its report on the case as there is still an outstanding report to be submitted to the board. This is the subject of continuing correspondence between the board and the legal advisers of one member of the board's mental health staff. Until this matter is fully resolved the board has advised my Department that it will not be in a position to submit a final report. In view of this, it would be inappropriate for me to make any comment on the matter at this point in time.
