Question:284 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when an inspectorate will be appointed to deal with the compulsory purchase order for the cable car in Innishbiggle, County Mayo. [14961/01]
Written Answers. - Compulsory Purchase Orders.
Mayo County Council submitted the County Council of the County of Mayo Compulsory Purchase Order (Acquisition of land for proposed cable car link between Inis Bigil and Achill Island) Order 2000 for my confirmation. The functions of the Minister for the Environment and Local Government in relation to the determination of compulsory purchase orders were transferred to An Bord Pleanála under the Planning and Development Act, 2000, with effect from 1 January 2001. Any inquiries in this matter should therefore now be referred to An Bord Pleanála.
