Question:159 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will now commence payment of extensification to all livestock farmers. [14943/01]

Payments under the 2000 extensification premium scheme commenced this week and to date in excess of £97.5 million has been paid to some 80,000 herd owners.
Payments are continuing and will be completed in all eligible cases by 30 June 2001, in line with EU rules and protocol commitments.
