66 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the moneys which have been spent on development works on the river Blackwater in Munster in recent years; the clubs that have benefited; the amounts of money paid in each case; and the conditions that were attached to the grants in each case. The Central Regional Fisheries Board – CFB – which is responsible for the day to day administration of the Tourism Angling Measure 1994-1999 informs me that the follow ing TAM projects were carried out on the Munster Blackwater:

The CFB advises me that the principal condition attached to all TAM funding is that the fishery must be made available for tourism angling for a minimum period of ten years post development work.

The Southern Regional Fisheries Board informs me that the Southern Trout and Coarse Fisheries Development Society also funded fishery development works on the Munster Blackwater in recent years. The rules of the society provide that allocations of money must be for fisheries development work of public benefit to enhance with continuing effect the trout or coarse fishery in the society's area and the benefits of which are available to be enjoyed by members of the public at large. Tables of grants paid by the society in the years 1998 to 2000 follow.
