Vol. 537 No. 2

Written Answers. - Cancer Treatment Services.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

215 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will approve the holding of a regular St. Luke's Cancer Clinic in Donegal Town Hospital. [15645/01]

The provision of oncology services in Donegal is a matter for the North Western Health Board. I am pleased to inform the Deputy that as part of the board's response to the national cancer strategy, a consultant oncologist and consultant haematologist will take up duty in Letterkenny General Hospital in September and July respectively. Both of these appointments will significantly enhance cancer services in the Donegal region.
