Vol. 537 No. 2

Written Answers. - Medical Cards.

Pádraic McCormack

Question:

232 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the concern of general practitioners regarding the implementation of the medical card scheme for persons over 70 years of age; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15750/01]

I am aware of concerns expressed by some general practitioners on this issue. These concerns and all other relevant matters will be addressed in discussions with the Irish Medical Organisation which are intended to lead to the timely and agreed implementation of this measure.
